Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Make It Scotland (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, stores and protects your personal information when you visit

Make It Scotland is an independent online travel directory. We are not a registered company. For the purposes of UK data‑protection law, we are the “data controller” of the personal information we handle.

  • Usage data: details of how you use the Site including pages visited, time on page and referrer.

  • Listing provider content: details from third-party providers such as business name, descriptions, images, booking links and contact information supplied for publication.

We do not process payments or store payment data on the Site. Bookings are handled by third-party platforms.

We no longer offer account registration for users.

2.1 Content supplied by listing providers

Third-party businesses may submit listings containing text, images and contact details. These may include personal data such as names and emails. By submitting content, providers confirm they have the legal right to do so and grant permission for publication. Providers can request updates or removal at any time by emailing hello@makeitscotland.com.

3. How we use your information

We use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • To operate and maintain the Site – based on our legitimate interests.

  • To respond to enquiries – based on our legitimate interests.

  • To send newsletters – based on consent (which can be withdrawn).

  • To improve the Site and monitor usage – based on our legitimate interests.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making.

Use of the Site is at your own discretion and risk.
