Tucked away on a forest track just outside Nairn, Remore Steading is a beautifully restored former farm-steading turned into a luxury self-catering holiday cottage. It sits at the edge of the Cairngorms National Park, offering sweeping rural views over woodland and fields - an ideal base for those looking to combine Highland tranquillity with access to beaches, castles, whisky distilleries and forest walks.
The accommodation on offer is the Coach House, built from stone with character features but fitted out with all modern comforts. It accommodates up to 6 guests , making it perfect for families, groups of friends, or couples wanting extra space.
Accommodation & Layout
Three bedrooms - a double ensuite, a twin ensuite, and one master king bedroom on the ground floor with adjacent bathroom, giving flexibility for couples, friends or a family.
Open-plan living area with large stone-arch windows framing views over fields and forest, a modern log-burning stove, and under-floor heating to keep things cosy whatever the season.
Well-equipped kitchen & dining: plenty of cookware and utensils, space for six around the oak dining table - perfect for home-cooked meals before or after outdoor adventures.
Utility / drying room with washing machine and tumble dryer - handy after hikes, beach trips or wet weather.
Fast broadband (60–80 Mbps) and a small workspace - a good balance for those wanting a quiet working base in the Highlands.
Setting & Experience
Remore Steading is reached via a 2 km forest track - privacy, quiet, and wild-feeling woodland surrounds are part of the package. The house looks out over fields and woods, with the forest edge and farmland stretching beyond.
From the doorstep you’re within reach of a huge variety of Highlands experiences: the beaches and seaside town of Nairn, forest and mountain walks in the Cairngorms, rivers, whisky-trail distilleries, woodland trails, and historical sites, giving guests options between adventure, relaxation and local culture.
You'll be welcomed by James and Helen. Their story - a 4 year restoration project, from turning a derelict steading into this warm, stone-walled retreat with a welcoming feel.
