Highland Wildlife Park

From cheeky monkeys and elusive wildcats to Scotland's only polar bears - there's something for the whole pack to explore!

Meet the Highland Wildlife Park residents

Park your car and continue on foot to discover some of the park’s most famous residents. Walker and Arktos, the park’s two polar bears, are a major attraction, captivating visitors as they swim, play, and explore their expansive enclosure. Seeing these magnificent Arctic giants in a setting designed to mimic their natural habitat is a rare and memorable experience.

The park is also home to the Scottish wildcat, one of the UK’s rarest mammals, as well as snow leopards, Amur tigers, lynx, wolves, and wolverines. These fascinating predators offer a chance for children to learn about conservation efforts and how Highland Wildlife Park is helping protect endangered species from around the world.

Interactive and family-friendly activities

For families with younger children, the walk-through enclosures are a big hit. The forest habitat allows you to get up close to playful Japanese macaques (snow monkeys), while the small mammal section introduces children to adorable Arctic foxes and otters. Kids will love watching these energetic animals play, swim, and interact with each other.
Throughout the day, you can also attend keeper talks and feeding demonstrations, where experts share fascinating facts about the animals and their conservation. These engaging sessions provide valuable learning opportunities, helping children understand the importance of protecting wildlife.

Keeper experiences

Our fantastic range of Keeper Experiences and Magic Moments will give you a once in a lifetime chance to get up close and personal with our amazing animals! (Please note these are suitable for aged 16+)
