Once home to the keeper who operated the lock gates, this cottage is full of character and charm. It’s now a cosy retreat for couples, small families or friends looking to explore Loch Ness and the Great Glen.

Inside, it’s warm, welcoming and made for slowing down. There’s a bright lounge with a wood-burning stove, a comfy sofa and views out to the canal. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking, whether it’s a hearty breakfast before a big walk or a quiet dinner after a day on the water. The 3 bedrooms are restful, with soft beds, calm décor and little homely touches. The bathroom is modern and fresh, with a walk-in shower and plenty of hot water.

Step outside and you’re right at the water’s edge. Watch boats drift by or sit with a coffee and take in the stillness of the canal. There’s a private seating area, plus miles of walking and cycling trails starting from your door. Fort Augustus is just a short walk away for shops, pubs and boat trips on the loch. Whether you're here to hike, unwind or just watch the world go by, Lock Keeper’s Cottage is a lovely place to call home for a while.
