Two wooden pods stand on a working croft on the Rhins of Galloway, north of Stranraer, each in a fenced garden of its own with a wood fired hot tub facing the sea.
Eden takes two people and Josie Jane takes four. Dogs are welcome in both, which is what the fences are for.

Two pods on a working croft
Knockneen is a croft first and a glamping site second. Mark and Sarah keep free-range hens, there are semi-feral cats on mousing duty in the outbuildings, and cattle come onto the ground in summer. That is why each pod has a fenced garden rather than an open pitch, and why a dog wants a lead outside it.
The two pods are not the same size. Eden is 26.5 square metres with a single bedroom. Josie Jane is 48 square metres with two. Otherwise they are laid out alike: a king size bed in every bedroom, an open plan living area with a kitchenette and seating, and an en suite shower room. Bed linen, duvets, pillows, and towels are provided in both, with Freeview television and wifi.
The hot tubs are wood fired rather than electric, one to each garden, so they are lit rather than switched on. Each garden has a fire pit and outdoor furniture, and both look out over the sea to the Isle of Arran, Ailsa Craig, and the Kintyre peninsula, with Belfast Lough beyond when the weather allows.

Good to know
- Check in is between 3pm and 6pm and check out is 10am. There is no reception, so ring the number on your booking confirmation when you arrive.
- Quiet hours run from 10pm to 10am.
- The hot tubs are wood fired, so allow time to light one rather than expecting it hot on arrival.
- Dogs must be on a lead around the croft because of the hens and, in summer, the cattle.
- Breeds covered by the Dangerous Dogs Act are not accepted, and nor are Staffordshire bull terriers, Rottweilers or Mastiffs.
- Parking is a maximum of two spaces per pod. A 7kW Type 2 EV charger is on site and its use is charged per kilowatt.
- The owners do not list an oven, so plan the cooking around a kettle, a toaster and basic equipment.
- A booking is not confirmed until the owners have contacted you and taken payment, usually within 24 hours of the enquiry form.

Kirkcolm sits at the top of the Rhins of Galloway, the hammerhead peninsula west of Stranraer, and the owners' own list of what is nearby starts with the beaches. Dally Bay is the closest and has seals on it, with Lady Bay, Larbrax Bay, Ardwell Bay, and Sandhead further round the coast.
Stranraer carries the museums, Agnew Park, the swimming pool at the Ryan Centre, and the harbour walks. South down the Rhins the owners name Portpatrick for its harbour and its paths, the Mull of Galloway lighthouse for the birdwatching, and Logan Botanic Garden. This corner of Dumfries and Galloway sits inside the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere, a stop on Scotland's UNESCO trail.

What is the difference between the two pods?
Eden has one bedroom and sleeps two. Josie Jane has two bedrooms, sleeps four, and is close to twice the floor area.
Are the hot tubs private?
Yes. Each pod has its own, in its own fenced garden, and both are wood fired.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, in both pods. They need to be on a lead around the croft, and the owners do not accept breeds covered by the Dangerous Dogs Act, Staffordshire bull terriers, Rottweilers or Mastiffs.
Is there an EV charger?

Can we book a single night?
The owners quote from £120 for one night for two adults, so yes, though they say the price moves with the dates and the party size.
