You should know
The cottage is close to an A road - so there is a short drive to most of the nearby walks.
The hosts live in the house next to the cottage and share the garden. They have two young children and a very friendly dog, who you will probably bump into.
Despite the hosts living nearby, the cottage still retains a private and peaceful atmosphere.
The loft bedroom has a low door and low ceilings.
You can also pay an extra £50 to hire the outdoor wood-fired bath tub for relaxing soaks under the stars, which the hosts can heat up for your arrival.
In the stunning Scottish countryside, a stone's throw from the famous Loch Lomond, surrounded by wildlife, Stable Cottage is the perfect spot to unwind and let the youngsters run free in nature. Visitors will fall in love instantly with this pretty stone cottage filled with bright colours, soft textures and cozy furnishings.
This is a charming stay with its characterful property with its tongue and groove panelled walls and wooden floor boards. Pack away supplies in the good-sized, well-equipped kitchen with its appealing teal cupboards, star-tiled back walls and discreetly concealed appliances. Fresh coffee and Tunnock's Tea Cakes are left out for hungry guests to devour before dinner.
This lovely sitting room is vibrant, with its bespoke furniture, and colourful rugs cover the wooden floor boards. There is a flat screen television for movie nights or head outside for some star spotting on a clear evening.
For moments of peaceful reflection, or to enjoy the sun's rays or watch the squall pass overhead, seek refuge in the calming conservatory. Relax on the wicker furniture, enjoy a good book or watch the red squirrels race amongst the trees.
On sunny days, head outside, there is lots of outdoor space for youngsters to explore, make dens and discover rope swings. Light the BBQ and grill some bangers to enjoy at the patio dining table. As night falls, light the firepit and watch the bats dart about overhead. There is a walled garden and also a little wood and meadow to wander and enjoy. You do share the garden with the hosts who live next door. They have two young children and a very friendly dog, who you will probably bump into.
There are three delightful bedrooms. On the ground floor, guests can choose the from the pretty double room or the bunk room. Upstairs, in the eaves, is a charming twin room with roof lights offering views of the night sky, though this room does have a low door and low ceilings.
Stable Cottage is superbly located. It is a short drive from Loch Lomond for cruises, wild swims, walks and picnics. The Trossachs will call to hikers, while lovers of the seaside will want to explore lively Helensburgh. You're also nicely placed for day trips to Glasgow and are not too far from Glasgow Airport if travelling by plane.
