Duncan Family Farms Glamping Pods

Two pods, and a hot tub outside each one

Duncan Family Farms lets two pods on Gartness Road, and two is the whole site. The Heft and The Hirsel, each for a couple, each with a two person hot tub of its own outside. If you have come here from a search for pods with a hot tub near Loch Lomond, the answer is both of them, private rather than shared, and heated for the duration of your stay, so there is nothing to light and nothing to wait for.

Inside, the two pods are the same pod. A double bed, a sofa, an en suite shower room, and a hand made country kitchenette with a Belfast sink, an electric hob, a microwave, a toaster, a kettle and a fridge freezer. Bed linen, towels, crockery, cutlery and a hair dryer are provided. There is no oven.

The one real difference is the dog. The Hirsel takes one well behaved dog per stay, added to the booking as an extra; The Heft takes none. Outside both, a large deck with a picnic table doubles the living space, and a second seating area has a fire pit with a grill. Logs for it are a booking extra.

Gartness is on the walking side of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs rather than the boat side. The West Highland Way comes past near the end of its first leg out of Milngavie, the Rob Roy Way starts at Drymen, and the John Muir Way and National Cycle Route 7 are within reach for cyclists.

The owners send guests to The But and Ben for food, which they put at a twenty minute walk, and name Glengoyne Distillery, Stirling Castle, Charles Rennie Mackintosh's Hill House and Ben Lomond as the days out.
