Eight lodges on the clifftop course
Dalriada stands on the cliff at Stonehaven, between the 9th green and the 10th tee of Stonehaven Golf Club, a James Braid course that follows the coast. The lodges look south over the bay towards Dunnottar Castle, and all eight are built to the same specification, so choosing between them is a question of position.
The living, kitchen and dining space is open plan, with large south facing windows, a corner sofa and a smart TV. The kitchen runs to a dishwasher, a washer dryer, an induction hob and a combination microwave oven, and the mattresses are Hypnos.
Outside there is a private deck, an EV charging point, and a lockable kit house of three metres by two, heated and lit, with hanging space for clubs, bikes or wet coats.

Good to know
- Check in is from 3pm and check out is by 10am. Late check out depends on availability and may be charged.
- Brachans and Skatie are kept pet free for guests with allergies. The other six take up to two dogs at £15 a night.
- A 20% deposit is taken at booking, the balance falls due 42 days before arrival, and a £275 security deposit applies.
- Smoking or vaping inside carries a £250 charge, and the decking is the designated smoking area. E-bikes and e-scooters cannot be charged indoors.
- A travel cot is £5 a night for babies up to 24 months and 15kg, with no bedding, and a high chair is £2.50 a night.
- The lodges are on one level with wheelchair accessible doorways, but the bathrooms are not wet rooms.

Location
Where it puts you
The lodges sit above the town on the golf course side, so the walking starts at the door. Dunnottar Castle is on its headland to the south, and the operator points guests along the shore to Craigeven Bay and Skatie Shore, and up the Bervie Braes for the view back over the harbour.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a hot tub?
No. Each lodge has a private deck with outdoor furniture, and the operator's site does not describe a hot tub.
Is the golf really included?
April to September, a complimentary round at Stonehaven Golf Club for up to four people. October to March it is £30 a person, and all of it depends on tee time availability.
What is already in the lodge when we arrive?
Beds made up, towels, and Scottish Fine Soaps toiletries, plus tea, coffee, salt and pepper, dishwasher tablets and cleaning products. Electricity, heating and wifi are in the price.
Where do the golf clubs and bikes go?
In the kit house outside each lodge: lockable, heated and lit, with power, shelving and hanging space. A mobility scooter can be charged there too.
Is there a minimum stay?
Not one the operator publishes for general bookings. Golf breaks are quoted on a minimum two nights.
