The hotel stands on a low peninsula reaching into Loch Leven at Ballachulish, water on three sides and the hills behind. Reception, the bar, the restaurant, and the pool all sit along the ground floor, so the loch is the view from wherever you spend the evening.
VisitScotland's travel trade listing puts the hotel at 59 bedrooms. The four grades differ in space and bed layout rather than decoration. Most bathrooms have a shower over the bath, and some accessible rooms have a walk in shower instead. Every grade takes dogs, which is worth knowing if you have been turned down elsewhere in the glen.

The leisure centre is why a good number of people book here rather than further up the glen. A heated pool with a sauna and a spa pool alongside, open 7am to 9pm daily and until 8pm for children, free to guests. Non residents can swim as well, at £5 for adults and £3 for children.
Waters Edge serves lunch from midday until 5pm and dinner from 5pm until 9pm every day, either outside or by the wood burner. Afternoon tea runs midday to 4pm and needs booking a day ahead. Breakfast is a full Scottish one, included when you book direct.
The marina means you can arrive by water rather than by road. Overnight berthing is £25, with power, showers, and use of the leisure centre.

- Reception, the restaurant, the bar, and the pool are on the ground floor, and there is no lift up to the bedrooms.
- Online check in lets you give an arrival time, and your key card is ready 30 minutes before it. Rooms are yours from 3pm.
- Two electric car charging stations sit on the right of the car park, four plugs between them, and you bring your own cable.

Ballachulish sits at the seaward end of Glencoe, where Loch Leven runs out into Loch Linnhe, so the glen road proper begins east of the hotel rather than at its door. The Glencoe Visitor Centre off the A82 carries the National Trust for Scotland exhibition on the glen.
