Four pods named after the trails above them
Tweed Valley Pods sits at Glenormiston, on the outskirts of Innerleithen. Each pod is named after an Innerleithen mountain bike trail: Right Side Clyde, Angry Sheep, Deer Hunter, and Lone Wolf. The site is a mile from Innerleithen's trail network and 2.5 miles from the Glentress trail centre.
Each pod is self-contained rather than a bed in a field. There is an en-suite shower room, a kitchenette, a smart TV, and free wifi, and all four are heated and insulated, so they work outside the summer. Bedding, towels, and showering essentials are provided, and every pod has decking of its own.
None of the pods has a hot tub, which is worth knowing before you book. Instead there is a bike wash, heated drying lockers, coin-operated laundry, bike storage with ground anchors, and e-bike charging. The pods are built from Scottish timber, and the owners have planted more than 250 saplings and 500 hedging plants around them.
Good to know
- Check in is 3pm and check out 10am, both contact free, with a two night minimum. Payment is taken in full at booking, and a £150 pre-authorisation on arrival.
- Dogs are by prior arrangement only. Livestock graze the surrounding fields, so at certain times of year dogs are not permitted at all, and on site they stay on the lead.
- The sofa beds need their linen requested when you book.
- A charcoal BBQ can be added at booking, quoted at £12.50 on two pod pages and £13 on the other two. Extra guests beyond two are £5 a night.
- Smoking is not permitted in the pods, and stag and hen groups are not taken.
- The listing here shows free parking, but the operator's own pages do not describe it, so confirm when you book.

Deer Hunter and Lone Wolf are the two with a full glass front, and the pair to book if you want to cook properly. Weekly rates run from £590 to £750.
Where it puts you
Innerleithen's trails are a mile away and the Golfie is minutes from the door. Glentress is 2.5 miles, Peebles four. A multi-use path between Peebles and Walkerburn passes a few minutes' walk away, so you can ride to either without the main road.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a hot tub?
No. None of the four pod pages lists one, and the operator's site does not mention a hot tub anywhere.
Can you cook a proper meal in a pod?
In Deer Hunter and Lone Wolf, yes: both have a combi microwave oven and grill as well as an induction hob. Right Side Clyde and Angry Sheep have a microwave and a hob but no oven.
Are dogs allowed?
In Angry Sheep, Deer Hunter, and Lone Wolf, by prior arrangement. Right Side Clyde does not take dogs. They stay on the lead on site, because of the livestock.
Is bedding provided?
Yes, with towels and showering essentials. Linen for the sofa beds has to be requested at booking.
Is there somewhere to wash and dry bike kit?
Yes. A shared bike wash, heated gear drying lockers, and coin-operated laundry, plus bike storage with ground anchors and e-bike charging.
