A hut you can cook in
Each of the three is a building rather than a pod. There is an ensuite shower room with a carved stone hand basin, a hand built kitchen with a two ring induction hob, a full size oven, and a fridge under oak worktops, and a Hobbit log burner beside the electric heating. Rowan adds a Belfast sink and a microwave on request. The bed is a king made up with Egyptian cotton, and a picture window puts Loch Nedd in front of it.
Outside, each terrace has dining furniture, a charcoal BBQ, and the tub. Kari and Stefan work the croft around them, so there are sheep about, guests keep to the fenced area, and there is no route down to the sea loch.

Good to know
- The hot tub is a £65 extra, not part of the rate. It takes three to four hours to prepare and is lit for arrival day only.
- Reheating it costs one or two £12 bundles. Only the owners' wood may be burned, and the stove's basket will not take logs from elsewhere.
- Parking is one off-road, gated space per hut. Motorhomes need approval first.
- The satellite wifi suits email and browsing rather than streaming, and the television is Free-Sat with no player apps.
- No smoking or vaping anywhere, doorways and decking included, with a £350 charge for a breach.
- Arriving outside the 4.30pm to 6.30pm window needs 24 hours notice by email.
- Low season, November to March, is a two night minimum in all three huts.
Where it puts you
Nedd sits on the B869, the coast road that leaves the A894 at Kylesku and rejoins it at Lochinver, the single track alternative to the main line of the NC500. Driving it is the reason to stay out here rather than in a town, and the five day itinerary sets out how much of it fits a short trip.
Drumbeg, just over a mile west, has a well stocked store, a candle shop with a tea garden, and a hotel with a bar. Achmelvich, Clashnessie, and Clachtoll beaches are a short drive. The owners name Quinag to the west and Foinaven, Arkle, and Ben Stack to the north as the hills in view, and seals, deer, golden and sea eagles, and the occasional pine marten among the wildlife.

Frequently asked questions
Is the hot tub ready when we arrive?
If you have booked it, yes. It takes three to four hours to prepare and is lit for your check in day. It runs without chemicals or a pump, and is filled fresh and drained after each stay.
What is provided?
Egyptian cotton bedding and towels, Hammam towels for the hot tub, a hairdryer, a Bluetooth speaker, and a welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, seasoning, olive oil, and biscuits.
What do we need for the BBQ?
Every terrace has a charcoal BBQ. A Weber kettle kit is £10 and a bag of coals is £4.50.
What is needed to hold a booking?
A 25 per cent deposit confirms it, and the balance falls due six weeks before you arrive.
Are there rules on using the tub?
Two people at a time and no outside guests, no glass in or near it, no dogs, water no hotter than 41C, and sessions of 15 to 20 minutes.
