Adults only accommodation in Scotland

Adults only means different things from one operator to the next, and the difference matters when you book. For most of the stays here it is a couples' rule: one bed, two adults, no children of any age. A few go further and turn down group bookings or anyone under a certain age, and one or two will take a baby by prior arrangement while still saying no to children. Each listing on this page carries the operator's own wording, so read the booking notes before you assume.

What you get for it. Quiet, mostly. Sites that take no children tend to be small, spaced out, and built around a hot tub, a wood burner, and a view rather than a play area, and they are the ones people book for a birthday, an anniversary, or the first weekend away in a long while. Most sit on farms or crofts with nothing else nearby to make a noise.

What to check. Whether dogs are also excluded, because many adults only sites are pet free too. Whether the rule is two adults exactly or simply no children, which decides whether three friends can book. And the minimum age where one applies, since a couple of operators set it above eighteen.
