If you're after a day packed with thrills, laughter, and seaside charm, Codona's Amusement Park is your go-to destination in Aberdeen. Run by the Codona family for over 50 years on the beach esplanade at Queens Links, it was named Best Day Out at the Scottish Entertainment Awards 2025, and with an outdoor funfair alongside a huge indoor complex, it works whatever the weather.
Rides and attractions
Thrill rides: Dead Man's Drop tower, the Galleon swing ship, Disco Waltzers, and the 100 ft Grampian Eye big wheel with views along the coast.
Family and kids’ rides: the Apple Family Coaster, Super Trucks, Tea Cups, Skydeck Super Dodgems, and Scallywags Bumper Boats for the little ones.
Indoor attractions: a 26-lane ten-pin bowling alley, laser tag, gel blasters, 3-Level Karting, and a huge arcade.
Smugglers Cove: award-winning indoor and outdoor adventure play, with soft play, slides, ropes, a toddlers' area, and a role-play street with its own shop, vet, and fire station.
Adventure golf: two 18-hole courses - the floodlit outdoor Pirate Island with its 25 ft volcano, and the indoor jungle-themed Congo.
Prices
Buy online before 6pm the day before you go. Amusement park tickets are not sold online on the day of a visit, and the same deals cost £5 more per person at the gate.
Summer Fun Band: £15 online (£20 at the venue) for unlimited park rides, a round of Pirate Island golf, and a choice of Smugglers Cove, laser tag, or go-karts.
Indoor Fully Loaded deal: £24.99 online (£29.99 at the venue), covering bowling, Congo golf, and two goes each on the main indoor attractions, plus food.
Bowling: from £7.50 per person per game off-peak.
Adventure golf: £8 per round.
Go-karts: from £8; laser tag from £6.
Summer Fun Band holders also get one free child's main course for every adult main bought at the Bowling Diner during the summer holidays. Deals change with the season, so check the official website for what is running when you visit.
Opening hours
Outdoor rides: 12 noon to 6pm daily during Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire school holidays, weekends only for the rest of the year.
Indoor complex: 10am to 11pm Sunday to Thursday, until midnight on Friday and Saturday, open almost every day of the year.
Smugglers Cove: 10am to 5pm on weekdays, until 6pm at weekends.
Pirate Island golf and 3-Level Karting: 10am to 6pm on the same holiday and weekend pattern, plus Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, weather permitting.
Food and drink
You won't go hungry: Big Mannys' Pizza, a Starbucks coffee bar, the Bowling Diner, The Hot Chip, Dirty Dogs, and We Love Crumble for pudding, plus bars in the indoor complex for the grown-ups.
Getting there and parking
By car: Queens Links, Beach Boulevard, AB24 5ED, with on-site parking including disabled spaces.
By bus: several local routes stop nearby; check timetables for the handiest option.
On foot: a pleasant 15 to 20 minute walk from Union Street through the city centre.
Good to know
Height restrictions: the bigger rides have minimums - Dead Man's Drop needs 48 inches, and most thrill rides ask for an adult alongside children under 52 inches.
Wet weather: with bowling, indoor golf, karting, and soft play under one roof, a rainy day does not spoil the trip.
Accessibility: disabled access and parking are available and relaxed sessions are offered, though not every ride suits limited mobility; ask the team in advance.

What are Codona's opening times?
The indoor complex, which holds the bowling, arcade, indoor adventure golf and laser tag, opens 10am to 11pm Sunday to Thursday and until midnight on Friday and Saturday. The outdoor rides run 12 noon to 6pm every day during Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire school holidays, and at weekends only for the rest of the year. Ride opening still changes with the weather, so check the board when you arrive.
Can you buy Codona's tickets on the day?
Not online. Online sales for the amusement park close at 6pm the day before your visit. You can still buy on the day at the ticket desk or bowling reception, but the gate price is £5 more per person, so the £15 All Day Summer Fun Band becomes £20 and the Indoor Fully Loaded deal £29.99. Go-karts, adventure golf, laser tag and Smugglers Cove need no booking at all.
How much are Codona's tickets?
The £15 All Day Summer Fun Band is the main outdoor deal: unlimited rides, a round of Pirate Island adventure golf and one go at Smugglers Cove, laser tag or the go-karts. Indoors, the Fully Loaded deal is £24.99 with food included. Bought separately, bowling is £7.50 off-peak and £8.50 peak, adventure golf £8 a round, go-karts £8 a race and laser tag £6 a mission. What are the height restrictions on Codona's rides?
Dead Man's Drop needs riders of at least 48 inches, the Galleon pirate ship and the Skydeck dodgems 39 inches, and the Dino Safari ride 44 inches. Anyone under 52 inches has to be with a paying adult on most thrill rides. Go-karts start at 54 inches on the family circuit and 60 inches for pro racing, with a 39 inch minimum for a double-kart passenger. Smugglers Cove is for children up to 58 inches.
