Built in the 19th century, the gatehouse feels like something out of a storybook. Inside, you’ll find quirky octagonal rooms, curved staircases, and a lovely mix of antique pieces and modern comforts. The sitting room has an open fire to curl up beside, while the bright dining area leads into a fully equipped country kitchen – ideal for slow breakfasts or simple home-cooked meals.
Upstairs, the lodge has two bedrooms – one double and one that can be set as a twin or double. Both are cosy and inviting, with soft bedding, floral fabrics and views of the estate. In between, there’s a stylish bathroom with a slipper bath that once belonged to nearby Monzie Castle. A lovely detail that ties the old with the new.
Step outside and you're straight into nature. Wander through the estate’s gardens, spot red squirrels and birds of prey, or follow walking trails into the hills. You can visit Monzie Castle, go fishing, or head into the nearby town of Crieff for shops, cafés and the famous Highland Games in summer.
East Gatehouse Lodge is private, peaceful, and full of character. A special place to slow down, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy a proper Highland break.
